Robert Carl Dausman, 89 years old of Newburgh, Indiana passed away on June 13, 2022, at the Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana surrounded by family.
Robert (Bob) was born February 22, 1933, in Evansville, Indiana. He attended Reitz High School in Evansville. Bob retired from Peabody Coal in Lynnville, Indiana and was a member of the U.M.W.A local 9926 chapter.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy (SN) and was aboard the U.S.S. Rolette in the Korean War. He was involved in local VFW & American Legion chapters, volunteered in restoring the USS lst-325 and one of his fondest memories was participating in the EVV7 honor flight of Southern Indiana.
He enjoyed basketball, nascar, all sporting events, building model airplanes & ships, loved playing with the family dogs, and most importantly spending time with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Dausman; son, Anthony Dausman (Connie) and daughter, Lisa Schaffer (Steven); his brother, Richard Dausman (Dorris); his grandchildren, Brittany Nunan (Matt), Teresa McKee (Rodney), Kimberlee Hollenback and many more nieces, nephews & great grandchildren, but most notably his best little buddy, great grandson, Brenton Spradley.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Dorothy & Sylvester Dausman, sister Jean Harper (Dick) & grand-daughter Lynnzy Ross.
A private family funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17th at Sunset Funeral Home located at 1800 Saint George Rd. in Evansville, Indiana. The American Legion Kapperman post 44 will render full military rites.
Friends may visit from 3:30-5:30 pm, Friday, June 17, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Bob’s name to the honor flight of Southern Indiana by going to: honorflightsi.org
