    U was like a sister to me Evansville will not ever be the same I will miss r talks and how much we laugh. U always had my back no matter what. Glad we talked not to long ago I will charsh that forever. God loulou I’m still in a daze about this there will never be another person like u. U was one of a kind. U have left a imprint on many people. I’m blessed to had u in my life. Jessie says he loves u too. Love u always my sister my friend & my person.

    She was an amazing women, had a big caring heart and loved everyone so much. No matter what she had going on in her life she was always there for her kids all of us and including her grandkids. I will never forget u aunt Lou and will miss u more then u know.

Luwana R. Ma-e Wire, 56, passed away on May 5, 2022. She was born on August 26, 1965, to Henry and Jacqueline Ma-e in Evansville, Indiana.

Luwana graduated from Central High School. She went on to work as a CNA for many years; she had a passion for caring for others. She attended Ivy Tech and began culinary classes; she had a creative mind when it came to cooking. She found great joy in creating dishes for her family, there was never a meal they didn’t rave about. She loved taking care of her family, she kept everyone in line. She enjoyed diamond painting, reading Stephen King, and watching paranormal television. Above all, she will be remembered for her kind heart, compassionate nature, and shoulder to lean on. She was a friend to all and will be missed.

Luwana was preceded in death by mother-in-law Wilma Wire and aunt Elizabeth Leinaala “Ala” Leopoldino.

Luwana is survived by her loving husband Chris Wire; children Elizabeth Ma-e (Harold), Zachary Wire; grandchildren Kaia Wilson, Ace Wilson, Journey Wire, Leland Wire, Kendrick Miller, and raised many children as her own; siblings Tedra Grisham (Tony), Leilani Ma-e (Ashley), William “Miko” Ma-e (Morgan); nieces and nephews Nakoa Ma-e, Brandon Grisham, Justin Grisham, Lauren Grisham, Darrian Ma-e; sister-in-law Carla Cox and Amber Lake, Celesta Golden (Earl) and Adrian Powell and Loreli Golden.

Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at 12pm on Monday, May 9th, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home.
