Janice Beatrice Gibbs, 75, passed away on July 11, 2020. She was born on August 20, 1944 to Joseph “JD” and Dora McKinney in Marion, Kentucky.
Janice loved to goof around and make people laugh. She was the comedian of the family. She loved to have conversations with everyone she met. For many years, Janice would have her family over for Sunday dinners. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved talking care of her grandchildren. Janice had a very special bond with her granddaughter Danielle. She also enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles.
Janice is survived by her husband of 59 years Donald Gibbs; children Cindy (Bob) Lawrence Marvin (Stacy) Gibbs, and Jennifer (Eric) Metcalf; her grandchildren Brooke (Josh) King, Chaz (Sierra) Gibbs, Macknna Metcalf, Kaylee Metcalf, Danielle Lawrence, Reagan Lawrence, Nicole (Bobby) Herring, Robert (Ronee) Lawrence, and Crystal (Eric) Baumberger, Kierstin, Lexi, and Camber; her great-grandchildren Gunner, Samuel, Chance, and Willow; her sisters Peggy (Darryl) Cox and Ruby Driver; her brother Danny (Carolyn) McKinney; many loving nieces and nephews; Karen Sutton; and her dog T 2.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Jimmy McKinney; her brother-in-law Willard Driver; her nephew Dale Driver; and her dogs Mouse and Mr T.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 15th at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday July 16th at Sunset Funeral Home with a burial at Mt. Zion in Rockport, Indiana. Friends and family can visit from 10 a.m. until time of service. The family would like to thank the staff at Millers for their wonderful care of Janice.
