Freddy was a very sweet man he encouraged me and was helping with the piano I’ve been playing for a while but was still having trouble with some notes brother Freddy knew this the Sunday before Christmas we went in Sunday night for service and on my piano was a little note with all the flats b flat and what goes with b flat wrote out for me he had took time out of his schedule and sit down and wrote that for me and it just touched me that he took time for me to do that and it’s still sitting on my piano I’m going to miss him and I love him and my condolence to the family
Freddie Darrell Spears, 87, went home to be with the Lord on January 10th, 2021 in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on September 21st, 1933 in Mercer, Kentucky to his parents, Joseph and Reathel (Rich) Spears.
Freddie served our country in the United States Army. After his time in the service, he went on to work for Whirlpool for 44 years, working in positions such as line work and supervisory roles. He was also a man of faith who had a deep love for God. He became an ordained minister and would preach the Gospel to anyone he could. He loved to play the piano and organ in church. Freddie enjoyed spending time outdoors and loved to go fishing. Above all, he loved and cared for his family.
Preceding Freddie in death are his parents; his loving wife, Nona Spears; his son, Freddie Spears; his siblings, Jackie and Richard Spears; and his grandchildren, Mandy, Dacia, and Brittany.
Surviving Freddie are his children, Darrell (Jacqueline) Spears; Pamela (Paul) Robinson, Cindy (Mike) McFarland, and Jeremy (Shannon) Spears; his sister, Christie; his grandchildren, Summer, Jason, Holly, Olivia, and Bridgette; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
No public visitation or services will be held at this time. Condolences can be made on the Sunset Funeral Home website. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
