Dean “Dino” A. Smith, Jr., 25, of Evansville passed away on February 25, 2020. Dino was born in Evansville on December 4, 1994 to his parents Rosa Perez and Dean Smith, Sr.

Dino will forever leave an imprint on the hearts of everyone he knew. Dino had a unique personality and is described as having a presence that could light up a room and lift up any persons’ spirit with his awesome sense of humor. Dino was very family oriented and loved them with his whole heart. He also loved his music and enjoyed fishing. Dino was a hard worker. He was especially talented with his hands (self taught) and could fix anything. Dino will be deeply missed by many.

He leaves behind: Son, Silas Smith; Daughter, Skylar Smith (on the way); Fiance, Samantha Claspell; Parents, Rosa Perez, Dean (Alice) Smith, Sr.; Siblings, Dimitrai (Alexis) Cabell, Heather Smith, Jennifer Smith, and Darius Thomas; Aunt, Kat Perez-Lockhart who was like a mother to Dino; cousins who were like siblings, Malaysia Perez-Lockhart and Bryant (Jasmine) Lockhart; Grandmother, Betty Smith; Aunts and Uncles, Robin, Leesha, Melody, David, Trent, Anthony, Mark (Veronica) Smith; cousins Nathan, Brandon, and Mia Smith.

Dino is preceded in death by his Paternal Grandfather, Marvin Smith and Maternal Grandmother, Virginia Lockhart.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 1800 St. George Rd., Evansville, IN, 47711. A Celebration of Dino’s Life begins at 6:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the family for college funding for Dino’s children, Silas and Skylar.

Also, to honor Dino the family requests family and friends wear red and black to his Celebration of Life.
