    I am truly sorry that we never got the chance to meet. At least we had a few moments over the phone to talk and get to know one another that way. Just know that your big sister loves you. Until we can meet in Heaven May you find comfort and peace.

Dakota “Kody” Daniel Allen Simon, 25, passed away on February 29, 2020. He was born on July 4, 1994 to Jack Simon and Mary Thompson in Evansville, Indiana.

Kody was an energetic and outgoing soul. He loved making people laugh and would make friends wherever he went. Kody absolutely loved the fact that he shared his birthday with the 4th of July. He enjoyed celebrating with fireworks. He was such a joyful and loving soul and will be dearly missed.

Kody is survived by his mother Mary (Ron) Thompson; his siblings Lydia McKinney (Jeff Greenwell),  Action Jack “AJ” Simon, Carrie (Rick) Gonzales of Iowa, and Jeremy Simon of North Carolina; his nieces Olivia and Emily Greenwell; his aunts Velta Simon Childress of Louisville Kentucky, Anna Simon Rucker of Clarksville Tennessee, Laura Simon Hunt of Louisville Kentucky,  Deborah Maynard, Margaret McReynolds, Toni Adkins, and Terry Naas; and his uncles Karl Hibbs, Ewell Hibbs, and James Hibbs.

Kody was preceded in death by his father Jack Simon.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 7th at Sunset Funeral Home.
