What a loss for Evansville. But she is in the place we all want to be. So sweet and loving. Always faithful to attending church and honoring her Lord and Savior. Praying for everyone with a need. She really cared. Rest In Peace Carol.
Such a sweet lady dedicated to her church and community. Always ready to offer prayers and encouragement to others in need. She is rejoicing in heaven with friends and family. Enjoy Carolyn. Rick and Karen Bender
Carolyn holds a special place in my heart. I sat behind her in church and she was always such an encouragement to me. She showed me love even before she knew my name. I’m looking forward to seeing her again some day.
Carolyn Sue Mahler, 78, passed away on October 10, 2021, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on November 29, 1942, to Bettye McCarty in Evansville, Indiana.
Carolyn was a member of the Bible Center Cathedral in Evansville, Indiana, for over 30 years. She loved God and lived her life by His word. Carolyn was known for her acts of selflessness and the love she had shown everyone. As an elder of the church she always made sure to set examples for others in all the best ways. Praying and giving to those in need gave her absolute joy. When her daughter, Sherri, was young Carolyn would use her skills from the sewing factory to create clothing and dolls for Sherri. After working at the sewing factory, she was employed at American General before retiring. Those who knew Carolyn will always remember her by her selfless acts of love and the comfort she offered to others in times of need. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Bettye McCarty; Grandparents, Raymond and Celeste Cartwright and son, Donny Vowels.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Sherri (Vowels) Helton; Son, Danny Vowels; Sister, Donna (Charlie) Ward; Grandchildren, Misty, Travis, Malachi, Paige, Dolan, Landon, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10am until the time of service at 11am on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home.
