Carol Sue (Camperman) Perkins, 72, passed away at her home in Denton, Texas on March 4, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.

Carol was a long-time resident of Evansville, Indiana.  She graduated from Harrison High School (’67), Capital University (’71) and she obtained her Masters in Nursing from the University of Evansville (’86).  She cared for others as a registered nurse both in Evansville and in the Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida area where she retired from Sarasota Memorial Hospital in 2007.  Carol enjoyed sports, but camping, nature and especially learning about the manatee were her favorite pastimes.

God’s love and mercy were evident in the care given her by many, most recently by those at her home at Brookdale North in Denton, Texas.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband Ronald R. Perkins, and parents Charles and Joan (“Chuck and Jody”) Camperman.  She is survived by her son Scott Menking (Linda), daughter Wendy Menking Stem (Alex), stepdaughter Angie Perkins Keller, brother John Camperman (Gail), nephew David Camperman (Janna), and her grandchildren Fiona and Olivia Menking, Hunter, Abigail and Sarah Stem, and Alex Benware.

A visitation with the family will be held on March 21, 2022 from 12-2pm at Sunset Memorial Park in Evansville, Indiana.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Save the Manatee Club at www.savethemanatee.org.
