William “Bill” Roach

William “Bill” Roach, age 76, of Evansville, IN and Bradenton, FL, passed away June 11, 2021, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Bill was born November 26, 1944, in Vincennes, IN to the late Murel and Violet Roach.  He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.  He then went on to follow in the footsteps of his father and uncles, becoming a plumber and pipefitter at Local 136 for 35 years.

When Bill retired from the Local 136, he never “retired”.  He was the friend that was always there to lend a helping hand.  If Bill did not have a project, he was looking for a project.  He was a builder of bird and butterfly houses and other projects too numerous to name.  He and Sharon enjoyed spending time together in their southern living garden.  Bill also enjoyed fishing and golf outings.  Family and friends were a very important part of his life.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; two sons, Alen Roach (Robin) and Michael Roach (Jan); stepdaughter, Kim McNeely; stepson, Scott McNeely; granddaughters, Mariah Watkins and Alicia McNeely; and great granddaughter, Gracie Shuble; brother, Larry Roach; sisters, Judy Spradling (Claude) and Susie Deckard (Dave); and several nephews and nieces.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his grandson, Drew Roach.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 26, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Evansville from 10:00 AM – Noon.  A celebration of life service will follow with Dale Biehl officiating.

While flowers are welcome, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to the Wabash Community Church in Vincennes or Holy Rosary Church in Evansville in Bill’s memory.
