Shirley Weatherford, 85, of Evansville Indiana went to be with the Lord on January, 7, 2022.  Shirley was born on November 23, 1936, and raised by Elisha White and Millie Groomm in Cerulean, Kentucky.

Shirley was a long time member of Memorial Baptist Church where she served on the Mothers Board and Nurses Gill and participated actively in Bible studies. Many were comforted by her quietness, listening ear, and advice. Always there for Church functions and meetings. Ready to help in preparing, cooking and serving meals. Her later years were spent with her son’s ministry uplifting the name of the Lord Jesus. She retired from Carver Day Care and loved the “little ones” and for many remembering her into young adulthood.

She was also a hairdresser and had many clients during the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and midway through the 2000s; if you had your hair “pressed or curled” by a hot iron most likely was done by her. To all that knew her she will greatly be missed because she very rarely turned anyone away who was in need of help, family and friends alike. Love you Mom, Granny, Aunty, Sister, and AKA Miss Shirley.

Shirley will be missed by her loving son Herbert Weatherford, one stepdaughter Pam Campbell which resides in Cleveland Ohio, and her sister Earnestine Foster.  Ingrid, mother of all the grandchildren including; Herbert Weatherford Jr., Andrae (Krista) Weatherford, Marcus (Cassie) Weatherford, LaToya Woodruff, and Elaine Weatherford.   Also missing Shirley are her; seven great grandchildren Adrienna, La’Amore, London, Aliyaa, Carlin, Elijah, and Reese. Along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, as well as her parents; Milie Groom, and Elisha White. Also preceded in death is her brother John White and sisters Geneva Bailey and Katy Gammons, and her daughter in law Judith A. Weatherford.

Visitation for Shirley will be Saturday 10am to 12pm with services at 12pm at Sunset Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
