Robert Willis, 93, passed away on October 7, 2019. He was born on February 15, 1926 to Walter and Mernith Willis in Petersburg, Indiana.
Bob served his country in the United States Navy. After his service, he went on to work as a switchman for the C & EI railroad for over 40 years. Bob was an outdoorsman. He loved to fish, camp, and take care of his garden. Bob also loved to travel with his family. He owned a motor home and pontoon boat and would take it all over, especially Florida in the winter. Bob was a member of the VFW, Darmstadt Retirees, and the Evansville Water Ski Club.
Bob is survived by his sons Stephen D. (Sharon M.) Willis and Keith (Debora L.) Willis; his grandchildren Scott (Stephanie) Willis, Shawn (Annie) Willis, Dawn (David) McKinley, and Stephanie (Andy) Miller; and seven great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years Betty Willis and his parents.
Visitation celebrating both his life and his wife Betty will be from 11 a.m. until time of service 1 p.m. at Monday, October 14th at Sunset Funeral Home with a burial to directly follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
