Robert Norman Morrison Urash, 98, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. He was born on September 17, 1923, to Henry and Greta Urash in the Bronx in New York City.
Robert was a geologist for over 50 years. He graduated from North Carolina State with his bachelor’s degree. Among his years as a geologist, Robert had the opportunity to help build a dam in North Dakota as well as operate his own company, Di-Kor Corporation, in Carmi, IL. Robert also enjoyed his time being employed at Pan American Sulphur in Jáltipan, Vera Cruz, Mexico, and Bays and Company in Urbana, IL. Throughout his life, Robert was known to be a skilled tennis player. He won various trophies playing tennis even up until his 80’s. Robert absolutely loved traveling the world with his wife and visiting some of their favorite spots such as Hilton Head and Italy. He also enjoyed playing cards and teaching his children the numerous games they could play together. He will be deeply missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Greta Urash, brother, Richard Urash, and daughter-in-law, Peg Urash.
Robert is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Norrick-Urash; 3 sons, Mitchell Urash, Richard Urash, and Donald (Juri) Urash; one daughter, Laurie (Paul Brown) Urash; 3 grandchildren, Spencer (Courtney) Urash, Brittany Urash, and Jonathan Urash and 6 great-grandchildren.
