Courtney and family, I am so sorry for your loss, especially during this time when you cannot gather to celebrate and mourn together. My prayers are with you for comfort.
I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your husband and father. Have known Riley since we purchased our first Volvo 32 years ago and he was always my “go to man” for all of them when needing service. Last time we spoke he had retired, I was asking him what I should look for in purchasing a used C70 convertible, really appreciate his insight and thoughtfulness when we spoke. I’ll always remember Riley as the best Volvo mechanic ever.
I’m sorry to hear about the loss of Riley. Met him 32 years ago when my wife and I purchased our first Volvo and he performed service on it. From then on Riley was always my “go to man” for service with our cars. Our last conversation was after he had retired and I was inquiring from him what to look for when purchasing a used C70 convertible. His insight and thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated. I’m very glad we had that conversation. I will always remember Riley as the finest Volvo Master Mechanic.
Riley L. Winders Jr. passed from this life November 23, 2020.
Riley was born December 10, 1953 to Riley L. Winders Sr. and Myrtle (Hines) Winders. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Monica, daughters Courtney Rueger (Nick) and, Gretchen Riddle (Lee). His grandchildren Audrey and Emily Rueger, Isaac and Hadleigh Riddle. His siblings Ann Wallis, Edith Arnold and Ray Winders.
Riley was an ASE certified, master automotive technician specializing in Volvo from 1982 until retirement in 2018. He was recognized multiple times for his excellence with Volvo. He had a passion for helping others. He was a proud papa and loved spending time with his grandkids.
A celebration of life will be planned for a safer time.
