I felt that I knew Rita from the accounts of Jean and Allen. They were amazed of the amazing health and memory. I shared your birthdays Rita and my Gatjer shared your birth year. You now have wings and that must be glorious. God bless you and you wonderful family.

May God give you peace and ease your sadness by flooding your hearts with wonderful memories. I will always remember her sweeties, kindness and current events knowledge while traveling with her to the cousins dinners.

Reta Duckworth, 89, passed away on November 23rd, 2018 in Newburgh, Indiana. She was born April 10th, 1929 in Mattoon, Kentucky to Ruby Opal and Robert Arflack.

Reta thoroughly enjoyed hand painting ceramic figures, listening to her son, Allen, play concerts as “Clif the Drifter”, and attending church. Most of all she loved her family with all her heart, and would get so excited to visit them, she would pack a bag months in advance.

Reta was always sharing stories about her life. One example is how she saw a baby chick being attacked by another chicken. She rushed out to save the chick and even kept it in her home until it was well enough to go back outside.

Reta is survived by children, Clifton Allen (Jean) Duckworth and Bruce (Norma) Duckworth; grandchildren Sabrina Ann (Cliff) McPherson, Michael (Tiffany) Duckworth, Mark (Melissa) Duckworth, Clifton Duckworth, Melodie Grace; and eleven great grandchildren.

Reta is preceded in death by her spouse of 51 years, Clifton Duckworth, and four siblings.

A funeral service will be held for Reta at Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial park Monday November 26, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
