Paul William Brewer passed away on March 1, 2022. He was born on June 26, 1958, Monroe, Michigan to Sherman Paul Lowe and Laurie (Nee Thompson). At a young age Paul was adopted by the Brewer Family and took their last name legally. This experience stirred a longing for family he left most of his life. After his previous spouse Barbara’s death, he spent a few years traveling to cities and towns across the United States, eventually, arriving in Evansville.
He went to work at various factories through a local temp agency. We met in 2001 when we both were working in the same department at a factory. We dated for half a year when we were married by then J.O.P Carla Hayden, on October 31, 2001. The J.O.P performed our wedding dressed as the Cat in the Hat, with our permission, and the following year of 2002 our daughter Summerstar was born on December 20. He was a loving and devoted father. He loved our daughter with all of his heart. Paul was a kind person who put all of himself into whatever he did, from relationships, work, to hobbies. He was an avid reader and video game player, and fantasy geek during his lifetime. He created his own game guides for his favorite games. He often referred to himself as a “Hobbit.” When dealing with problems, he was solution oriented. He sought to find the best solutions to any problems and ways to improve things that already existed. He often collected things he fell in love with. He once had an extensive collection of buffalos. Paul was very thoughtful of others, even toward the end of his life. Though he was an atheist, when the hospital chaplain asked him if he could pray with him, Paul said yes for the chaplain’s benefit. He reached and longed for a family most of his life, and he was deeply committed to ours.
Paul survived by loving wife of 20 years Mary and daughter Summerstar Brewer.
