Nevelyn Dorris Parker, 99, passed away on March 14, 2023. She was born on February 11, 1924, in Caldwell County, Kentucky, to Albert C. and Catherine E. Dorris. She lived in Kentucky until the age of 14 when the family moved to Evansville, Indiana.

Nevelyn graduated from Bosse High School in 1942 and worked as a Secretary after graduation. In 1946, she married John W. Parker of Evansville. Two sons were born of this union, Roger A. and William K.

Nevelyn is survived by her sons Roger (Cherie) Parker, and Keith (Carolyn) Parker; grandchildren Jason (Susan) Parker, Kirk Parker, Ryan (Leeann) Parker, John W. Parker; great-grandchildren Jordan, Christian, Amber, and Kenneth; special niece Carolyn Hust and her daughter Diane Fitzsimmons; several loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Nevelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years John William Parker; parents Albert C. and Catherine E. Dorris; four brothers, and two sisters.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gateway Hospital Unit 500A, Linda E. White Hospice Care, and Dr. Julie Gerhardt for their compassion and care during this time.

Visitation will be from 10am until the time of service at 12pm on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home with a burial to directly follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Linda E. White Hospice in honor of Nevelyn.
