Mary Tooke, 89, went home to be with the Lord on March 28, 2022. She was born on December 31st, 1932, to Buford J. and Mary Gladys Peacock in Arp, Tennessee.

Mary was strong in her faith; she loved the Lord above all. She was a prayer warrior and was incredibly active in her walk with the Lord. She was an avid reader, she read her Bible daily, as well as Christian Romance Novels. Mary and her husband, Orbie, found great importance in giving back to the community and headed a mission in Owensboro and were active in working with the Evansville Rescue Mission. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and playing crossword puzzles. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Orbie (Bud) Tooke; her parents Buford and Mary Gladys Peacock; and siblings Margaret Peacock, Peggy Peacock, Ruth Backner, Laura “Faye” Rodgers, Patricia “Patsy” Sikes.

Mary is survived by her son Timothy (Linda) Tooke; grandchildren Crystal Miller, Makenzie (Brandon) Alldredge, Brynn McCuiston, Nicholas Wittman, Jacob Wittman; 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, sister Ethel (Gene) VanDeman and many extended family members.

Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at 1pm on Friday, April 1st, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home with a burial to directly follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
