    Mama u were one in a million. I know without doubt you got the biggest prettiest wings when you arrived home. I hope your up there reuniting with everyone of our friends and family. My life changed forever yesterday and nothing will ever be the same without you but I continue to tell myself your in a much better place. I love you Mama and u will remian in my heart forever

Mary S. Thomas, 68, passed away December 17, 2018. She was born on August 31, 1950 to J.T. Coy and Mary Elizabeth Beard in Evansville, Indiana.

Mary was an amazing, strong woman. She was known as everybody’s Granny. She raised her two daughters all by herself and loved her family and grandchildren very much. One of Mary’s favorite pastimes was solving crossword and puzzle books. She also enjoyed listening to all sorts of country music and riding horses.

Mary is survived by her daughters Tammy Banfield and Stella Banfield (David); her step-children Marina (Noopy) Thompson, Betty Thomas, Michael (Mary) Thomas, and Butch Thomas; her grandchildren Chad Roten, Haley Roten, Auston Roten, Serinah Freels, Steven M. (Brittaney) Freels III, Ashley Freels, and Destiney Freels; her great-grandchildren Braxton Roten, Millie Jo Gaffney, Ja’kobe Couch, and Zhuri Mary Louise Couch; her siblings Russel (Vicki) Beard, Connie (Jackie) Shadd, and Joann Magnus; and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Eugene Thomas; her parents J.T. Coy and Mary Elizabeth Beard; her step-daughter Laura Stanfield; her brother Danny Hampton; and her brother-in-law Miles Magnus.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 20th from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 12 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. A burial will directly follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make donations towards a headstone for Mary.
