Mary L. Yonts, 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 23, 2020 in Evansville, IN.
She was born on August 18, 1927 in Glendale, IL to Walter and Pearl (Walter) Schuchardt.
Mary was married to the love of her life, Eugene Yonts, for 72 years. Mary’s love for the Lord will never be forgotten. Her steadfast faith helped her to be a great wife and mother. She was talented in so many ways. Mary was a church pianist for over 50 years and very active in the church. Her love for music led her to learn to play several different instruments, even the accordion. She also loved to sew clothing and quilt afghans and pillows. Her cooking and baking skills were also fantastic. Mary’s cakes were beautiful and delicious! Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving Mary are her children, Ray (Lynn) Yonts and Randy (Rhonda) Yonts, both of Evansville, IN. Her
grandchildren, Michele (Brian) Wagner, Melody (Donn) Mehringer, Monica (Russ) Sinclair, Josh (Kelsey)
Yonts, and Bethani Rumsey; 28 great-grandchildren; a brother, Don (Mary Alice) Schuchardt; sister-in-
law, Helen Pippin; and nieces, Janet Rhoades and Lynn Hughett.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene, and her sister Loretta Schuchardt.
Services for Mary will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home. Hours of
visitation will start at 10:00am with the service to start at 12:00pm and a graveside service to follow; Pastor Aaron Henson to officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethel Pentecostal Church.
