Mary Ellen Ethridge, 87, passed away on April 25, 2020. She was born on June 4, 1932 to Walter and Josephine Wood in Evansville, Indiana.
Mary was a loving mother and was very supportive of all of her children. She was always helping others and was a big advocate for others. When Mary was younger, she was a very talented trick skater. She also enjoyed dancing, especially line dancing. Mary loved to go camping with her family in the camper that her husband built. She also enjoyed crafting and going on cruises with her friends. Above all else, Mary loved spending time with her family and friends.
Mary is survived by her daughters Cathy Jones, Cynthia (Jack) Bennett, and Karen (Danny) Mitchell; her grandchildren Jessica Jones, Cameron Jones, John Bennett, Paul Bennett, Daniel Bennett, David (Jill) Mitchell, Christopher Mitchell, and Veronika Mitchell; her great-grandchildren Ben Mitchell, Levi Mitchell, and Taylor Reynolds; her siblings Sylvia (Ramon) Will, Elizabeth (Ken) Walker, Walter (Judy) Wood, Raymond (Sue) Wood, and John (Paula) Wood; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Roy Ethridge Sr.; her son Roy Ethridge Jr.; her grandson Samuel Bennett; her parents; and her siblings Edith Statzer, Charlotte Parton, George Wood, and Richard Wood.
A service will be held at the Lakeside Pavilion at Sunset Memorial Park on Friday, May 1st at 2 p.m. Friends and family can visit from 1 p.m. until time of service. You can attend visitation using social distancing or with a drive through visitation option. Drive through visitation will be accomplished by cars driving past our Lakeside Pavilion where the family will be standing to accept your condolences. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Crossroads Covid Relief Fund.
