Mary Evelyn (Melton) Meckert, 91, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on April 4, 2023. Mary was born in Christian County, Kentucky, to Rufus and Myrtle (Barnett) Melton on May 13, 1931.
Mary was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She was a lifelong member of Bethany Christian Church. She was a talented crafter, she enjoyed cross-stitching, sewing, and making quilts. She loved baking for her family, she had the most amazing pies. Mary will be remembered for her caring and compassionate heart. She treasured spending time with her loved ones.
Mary is survived by her children Dan Knepper and Dwayne Knepper; sister Gene Hottle; grandchildren Ashley Knepper and Christopher Knepper; and great-grandson Izaiah.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son David Knepper.
Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of service at 12 pm on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home.
