Marion Mitchell, 77, of Evansville went to be with the Lord on August 18th, 2022, surrounded with the love and prayers of her family. She is the mother of Duy Mitchell, SR.

She was born to Anna Jean Suggs and James Carl Mitchell in Washington D.C, joining her sister Anna Jean Mitchell.

Marion graduated Cardozo High School in Washington DC in 1963, then went on to nursing school at D.C General Hospital.  She was self-propelled and worked as a clerk putting herself through school.

She is the beloved grandmother of Breasia, Duy Jr, Devin, Desi, and Dylan Mitchell the children of Duy and Demtric of Waldorf, MD.  Her kind and special personality was passed down to these gentle and service minded souls.

Marion was a very kind and giving person, having served as a nurse under the Clinton administration.  She worked for the state, county and federal level all in the Maryland and DC area, while residing in Landover, Maryland.  St Elizabeth’s, Prince George’s County and DC General, as well as the state correctional facilities.

She was a diehard Cowboys fan and enjoyed fellowship while she watched the games, teaching Duy the ways of the game.  She loved to paint and was considered and oil painting artist.

She was a proud Baptist and attended Riverside Baptist church in Fort Washington Maryland.

She is preceded in death by her parents Anna Jean Suggs and James Carl Mitchell, and sister Anna “Baby Jean” Suggs.

She is further survived by her nephews Maurice Lamont Welch, and Kenneth Earl Hill; niece Valaida Regina Hill; many other family members and beloved friends.
