Mareem Elizabeth Hendricks Horn, 92, passed away on November 10, 2018. She was born on March 17, 1926, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Clyde and Anna Smith Hendricks.

She married Lawrence Alan Horn on July 15, 1946, in her hometown. They had two children during their marriage, Michael and Pat. Her family lived in America from the very beginning. She was a Mayflower descendant and had family who served in the Revolutionary War.

Mareem worked at the State Hospital for 20 years as a Qualified Medical Aide. She enjoyed reading books. Her favorite author was Danielle Steele. She also enjoyed watching Johnny Depp movies and bowling.

Mareem is survived by her sons Michael (Debbie) Horn and Patrick Horn, her granddaughter Natalie (Michael) Marcelak, her great-grandchildren Jonas and Kate Marcelak, her sister Louise Nye and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Anna Smith Hendricks, her loving husband Lawrence Horn, her brother Richard Hendricks, and her grandparents that she loved so much James and Elizabeth Thompson Hendricks and Wilford and Electa Macy Smith.

There will be a private graveside service at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please make donations to R-men’s Varsity Club at r-men.org. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Park Terrace for all of their help and being a part of Mareem’s life for the past three years.
