November 15, 2021 at 3:43 pmI’m so deeply saddened by seeing this. I stumbled upon as o was scrolling thru obits. Please know I will keep u guys in my prayers in this difficult time. No one should have to bury a child. Krista was a special young girl when I knew her. I remember her standing around watching and helping me cook for her and paige and their dad. Krista Dawn Small, 31, of Evansville Indiana passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Krista was born in Evansville, Indiana, on August 5, 1990, to Melanie Owens and Jimmy Small.
Krista was such a free spirit and enjoyed life to its fullest. Family was everything to her and spent every moment she could with her family. She adored her three children more than anything else. Krista’s favorite time of the year was the fall, particularly loving Halloween. She loved everything about Halloween especially the movie, The Nightmare before Christmas. She had the biggest sense of humor and always tried to put a smile on everyone’s face and make everyone laugh. Krista enjoyed being outdoors, especially driving and riding on Harleys as she was a big fan of MC Club.
Krista will be missed by her three children; Matthew Rump, Addyson Gilbert, and Brentley Gilbert. Also, Krista leaves behind her mother Melanie Owens and dad Jimmy Small as well as many siblings; Paige (Sean) Small, Paytyn Small, and Raven (Wes) Thomas. Krista will also be missed by her fiancé Ryan Utley as well as her grandparents Millie Gibson and Johnnie Owens. Krista also leaves behind her two nephews; Sean Hobson and Jameson Flahardy as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Krista is preceded in death by her grandparents; Joseph and Linda Small.
Visitation will be from 10:30am until the time of service at 12pm on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home with burial to directly follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The services will be lived streamed through Zoom. Please, call Sunset to get the Zoom information at 812-477-5316.
