Karen Jean Poormokhtar, 59, of Newburgh, Indiana passed away on March 3, 2020 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Evansville. She was born in Evansville on January 3, 1961.
Karen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was the most important thing in her life. Karen graduated from Central High School and graduated from ISUE (now USI) with a degree in Biology. She worked for several years at the Vanderburgh County Health Department. She was the President/CEO and co-owner of Absolute Solutions, Inc. in Newburgh and most recently was the office manager at B&M Electronics. Karen enjoyed designing websites, embroidery, and sewing. She was a talented cook, and loved entertaining her family and friends especially around the holidays. She would always go out of her way to make the people she loved feel special. She had the most beautiful smile accompanied by an infectious laugh. She loved animals, especially her cats Reece and Roscoe. Karen had a huge heart and shared a very special relationship with her young grandson Cohen. She will be deeply missed by everyone.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years; Ben Poormokhtar; daughters, Cassie Poormokhtar (Matt Sweeney), Chelsea (Caleb) Lannan; grandson, Cohen; parents, Jim and Patti Hobson; sisters, Pam (Tony) Schubert, Connie (Robert) Lee-Masters; brothers, Robert (Jen) Bergman, Thomas (Theresa) Hobson; loving friends; Barb Addington, Scott (Lori) Harris, Roger Fuchs (Debbie), Joe Brown, Tom (Trish) Keith; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Karen was preceded in death by her biological mother; Patricia Hobson (Rubsam); grandmothers, Lovedia Rubsam and Emma Hobson; many aunts and uncles.
There will be Celebration of Life on Saturday March 7, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Park Place Apartments Clubhouse, 3866 Carmona Drive, Newburgh, Indiana 47630, located at the East end of the building. Please dress in casual attire.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting cards with a special memory of Karen be mailed to the Poormokhtar family, PO Box 1122, Newburgh, IN 47629.
