Mike Medicis was my real friend. As tried as he might to put me on a righteous path, he was never quite successful. That being said, I always listened and paid attention to this bright, articulate, loving man. Rest in peace my friend.

First of all I want to extend condolences to Mike’s family, (Mary, Gerard and all the rest of the Medicis brood).
I’ve known Mike for over three decades. He was a very dear friend, through thick and thin. Mike was a kind and gentle soul, who showed the love of God in his heart through kind words, avid listening skills and intercessary prayer for others. I was also blessed by Mike’s ‘book ministry’ through the years and was always delighted to receive a manilla envelope by the door of my office, or later a package in the mail. And…of course, the book was always a ‘perfect fit’ for whatever I was struggling with at the time!
Thank you, Dear Brother Mike for allowing God to work through you in such amazing ways! Myself and countless others are eternally grateful for being able to have a deeper walk with our Lord and Saviour because of your solid connection to Him! Rest in Peace, dear brother Mike!

My dear friend Michael, I want you and your family to know how grateful I am to have called you my friend and brother in Christ. On many occasions I confided in you and you offered sound spiritual, biblical guidance and comfort. I miss you now will always. I look forward to being reunited with you in heaven as I know that you are now in paradise with our Lord whom you loved and served so faithfully. You were a great advocate on earth devoting your life to helping others. May your goods deeds be seeds that produce great works for others forever; may you receive your treasures that now await you in eternal peace. Love you Brother Michael! Your forever grateful friend Jonathan LaFrance.

John Michael Medicis, age 69, of Evansville, IN (formerly from Leona Valley, CA) went home on Sunday, July 12, to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus.

Mike was a criminal defense attorney in the Antelope Valley and through his law practice, he shared Jesus’ love and redemption with many of his clients. Mike’s greatest passion and purpose in life was to share the gospel of Jesus, which he often did through his “book ministry,” giving away hundreds of books that helped him in his walk with the Lord. He touched and changed so many lives on this Earth, as he was a constant encouragement to his family, friends, and clients. After suffering a lifelong chronic illness and then fighting cancer for the last several years, he is now healed from his pain and enjoying the benefits of Heaven.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Esther Medicis.

He is survived by six siblings: Sharon (Paul) Michaud of McMinnville, Oregon, Janice (Larry) Martin of Lancaster, California, Susan (Craig) Medicis of Denver, Colorado, Joe (Alice) Medicis, Gerard (Lara) Medicis, and Mary (Andy) Peistrup of Evansville, Indiana; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, July 17th at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral service and burial will be private.
