So sorry to hear this. John was my friend at Arkla and was very kind to Bob and I. He never knew a stranger and was alot of fun to be around. Heaven is lucky to have him!
John “Bobby” Moore, 88, passed away on July 21st 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
John was born on August 18th 1935 to Cecil and Marie (Eaves) Moore in Muhlenberg County, KY. He attended Central High School in Evansville, IN and went on to work as a butcher for Swift Meat Packing. After working for Swift, John worked as a welder for 30yrs for Arkla/Dometic. He enjoyed working on cars and would even fix them up to be able to teach his children and grandchildren to drive. John never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone. Some would say being with John in public felt like being with a celebrity because everyone knew him everywhere he went. John enjoyed trail riding and boarding horses. He especially loved his trusty horse Sparky. The outdoors called to John. He enjoyed fly fishing with his beautiful wife Jean as they traveled the Ozarks in the RV.
John leaves behind his loving wife of 30yrs Jean (Faver) Moore, his sister Sue (Don) Findley, his son Rick (Sandy) Moore, his daughter Debbie Moore-Hibdon, his stepson Jeff Hengstenberg, and his stepdaughter Michelle McCormick. John also leaves behind his grandchildren Greg (Heather) Moore, Curt (Sarah) Moore, Jeremy (Abby) Hogan, Lindsey Hogan, Candice (Jake) Hughes, Stefanie (Missy) Emerson, Ashley (Kurt) Hibdon-Watson, April (Bryan) Coughlin, Ashley (Matt) Hastings, and many great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Marie, late wives Margaret and Norma, stepdaughter Kelly Hengstenberg-Schroeder, granddaughter Emily McCormick, and great-grandson Chandler Moore.
Services for John will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Tuesday July 25th,2023. Visitation will open to the public at 10:00am with a service officiated by Pastor David Pry beginning at 12:00pm. Graveside service will take place at 1:00pm.
