In loving memory of Jeffrey Leo Bannister, Sr., 75, who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 18th 2020.
Jeff was born in Evansville, Indiana June 15, 1944 to Leo and Juanita Elzo Bannister. Jeff called Evansville home for the majority of his life. After proudly serving in the U.S. Navy, Jeff began a career with Whirlpool quality control that would last until his retirement 38 years later. Outside of work, Jeff enjoyed playing baseball and softball, and coaching little league. Jeff was a lifelong Chicago CUBS fan, and avid golfer and shared many wonderful memories of Thunder on the Ohio hydroplane races and car races at the Tri State Motor Speedway with is children and grandchildren.
Family and extended family added joy to Jeff’s life. In the company of his sisters, Melanie and Sandy as well as his brother, Michael, there was never a dull moment with stories, jokes and good natured fun. With the support of Shirley (wife of 26 years and forever friends) they raised their children and opened their doors to others. Jeff was a father, grandfather and great grandfather and whether through stories and experiences, his life made an impact on each generation.
Jeff is survived by his children Tracy (Kevin) Barnett, Lisa (Jack) Pinkerton, Jeff (Jama) Bannister Jr, Charles Bannister, Melissa Poe, Jamie Bannister, Nathalie (Brian) Pierce, Joshua Cornelius, Philly (Tyson) Black. His grandchildren Michael (Joey), Abby, Alec, Allison (Andy), Amelia, Lydia, Cecelia, Briley, Gabriel, Mia, Harrison, Autumn (Travis), Ireland, Shannon, KynLeigh, Kynadi, Aerial, Maddison, Elijah, Noah and Zelda.  His great grandchildren Marleigh, Henley, Bentley, Jamison, River, Storm, Capian, and Nova.  His siblings Michael (Judy) Bannister, Sandy Mann and Melanie (Randy) Freeman, many nieces and nephews and cousins, and his lifelong golfing buddy and brother in law Wesley Ham.
