We are devastated to read of Jeff’s passing. He really loved working in the family business and Stormy. May you have the love and peace of Christ in your time of sorry.
I remember Jeff from First Avenue Presbyterian church where I served as organist. He and his brother and sister were my kid’s ages. Cancer can be so cruel. I pray for peace and comfort for all of you. We lost our daughter Sarah to brain cancer in April, so we understand. You definitely have our sympathy and concern as you have to suffer this loss.
Jeff Schwindel, 50, passed away August 20, 2022 with his family by his side at St. Vincent’s Intensive Care Unit in Evansville, Indiana.
Growing up, Jeff was an accomplished athlete. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his closest family and friends. He continued to be an avid outdoorsman and animal conservationist all of his life.
Jeff was a skilled mechanic and craftsman. He was always willing to help someone make a repair or to lend a hand. He made his dad so proud by learning the family printing business and being a go-to pressman and expert in the field for the Evansville community.
Jeff had a work ethic like no other, and he worked alongside his dad at Faithway Printing until the time of his death.
After Jeff beat cancer the first time twelve years ago, he dedicated the rest of his life to serving his family. He lived with and took care of his aging parents. He enjoyed adventures with his daughter and helping her grow into a responsible, young adult. He loved being anywhere with one of his best friends, his brother, and celebrating special occasions and events with his family and his sister and her family.
A word that describes Jeff best is “strong.” He overcame many obstacles in his life to become the man he was. It is no surprise that when his cancer came back aggressively a few weeks ago, that Jeff fought it until his last breath. His journey was truly inspirational.
He is survived by his parents, Bonnie and Dennis Schwindel of Evansville, Indiana; his daughter, Stormy Schwindel of Evansville, Indiana; his brother, Kevin Schwindel of Newburgh, Indiana (Mary), and his sister, Kim Long (Dan) of Clarksville, Tennessee as well as nieces and a nephew.
Visitation will be held on Friday Aug 26, 2022 at 11 am until the service at 1:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home 1800 St. George road, Evansville, IN 47711
