    Judy, I am so sorry to learn of Jim’s Passing. I just now read about it. Unfortunately, I had lost touch with Jim who had worked on one of my crews when he first joined the Sheriff’s Office. May Gode Bless Jim’s Spirit and comfort all of the family, colleagues and friends during this difficult time.

James R. Basham, age 64, passed away in his Evansville home on July 30, 2022. He was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on April 13, 1958. He lived in Evansville for most of his life. James retired as a Sergeant from the VCSO. He enjoyed spending time fishing, working on vehicles, watching UFC, and listening to country music.

James is survived by his wife of 30 years Judy (Bollinger) Basham; his daughter Courtney (Basham) Franklin, sons Jeremy Cain and James Basham Jr., step-son Steve (Dawn) Stuart, and step-daughter Brandi (Jeremy) Clifford. His grandchildren include Angelina, Bella, Trinton, Haeden, and Jaxon; and brother Wayne Wilson.

James was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Shirley Basham, sisters Susie Wilson and Cindy Kay, and brother Randy Basham.

Celebration of Life will take place Wednesday, August 3, 2022, with visitation from 12pm to 2pm at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel of Peace Mausoleum.
