Helen (Schmitt) Jackson, age 79, passed away at Deaconess Midtown hospital on September 26th surrounded by loved ones. Helen was born in Evansville IN and lived in Henderson KY. She was born to John and Josephine Schmitt on January 28, 1942. She graduated from Mater Dei high school in 1960. Helen was united in marriage to Ronald Jackson Sr. on May 4, 1963. They have 3 children; Arhonda Mueller, Connie Milligan, and Ronald Jackson Jr.

Helen met her husband while working at Shawnee Plastics where she worked for 10 years, then worked at and retired from Deaconess Hospital for 30 years as a pharmacy tech. She loved her work and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved her dogs Pixie and Chance, enjoyed reading, Nascar (Jeff Gordon was her favorite), quilting, cross stitch, crocheting, and coloring as well as other crafts.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald Jackson Sr., brother Walter Schmitt, granddaughter Danielle Jo Griffin, and her life partner of 20 plus years Harris Tate.

Helen is survived by her sister Betty Schmitt, her half brother John Phillip Schmitt, her 3 children Arhonda (Ted) Mueller, Connie (Jim) Milligan, Ronald, 5 of her 6 grandchildren Tosha (Patrick) Collins, Jennifer (Charles) Nasbitt, Tedie (Seth) Downey, Tyler Griffin, Wesley Jackson, as well as 9 great grandchildren.

She had such a warm heart and will be greatly missed by so many.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 6pm-7pm at Sunset Funeral Home with service to begin at 7pm.
