Florence Ricki Schlumpf, 92, of Evansville passed away at her home on July 23, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She was born January 5, 1926 daughter of Edward and Florence (Heegle) Klueg in Evansville, Indiana. She married William John Schlumpf, Sr. in 1943 and they were blessed with 70 years together before his passing in 2013.

Florence was known as a loving mother and homemaker. She worked for Rogers Jewelers, was a past member of St. Johnā€™s United Church of Christ, and current member of Salem Church of Darmstadt. One of her greatest joys was riding the pontoon boat on Lake Barkley with her little dogs.

She is survived by her children, Billy (Justin) Schlumpf, Betty Newcomb, and Barbara (Mark) Cravens; grandchildren, Candace Greenlee, Julie Borgers, Zach Schlumpf, Maria Gilles, Mark Schlumpf, John Caldwell, Jennifer Mueller, Jessica Dawn Dees, Jessica Caldwell, Kelly Coe, and Kevin Day; 27 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sibling, Laverne Foster; and daughter-in-law, Carol Schlumpf. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Bud Schlumpf; brother, Edward Klueg; son-in-law, David Newcomb; and infant grandson, Stuart Richard Schlumpf.

A visitation will be held from 4 until 8:00 PM Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home in Evansville, Indiana. A morning visitation will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 AM Friday, July 27, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Evansville, Indiana.

A special thanks to the nurses and nurseā€™s aids from Deaconess VNA Home Care in Hospice for the excellent and loving care that Florence received.
