Ervin T. Barnett, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.  Ervin was born on March 8, 1935 to Thurlow and Beatrice (Brandenstein) Barnett in Evansville, Indiana.

Ervin loved playing golf, cards, and watching sports.  He retired from Alcoa after 25 years of dedicated service and was a long-time member of United Steel Workers Local #104.  He was also a proud veteran, serving in the Army following the Korean War.  To commemorate his service, he took part in the Honor Flight last year, and it became one of his most treasured memories.  Most importantly, Ervin loved his family.  He truly enjoyed having his children and grandchildren come to visit, and sharing meals and laughter with them at his favorite restaurants.

Ervin is preceded in death by his loving wife Carolyn, his parents, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.  He is survived by his daughter Heather (Tony) Payne, sons Shawn (Natalye) Barnett and Brett Barnett, and stepdaughters Renae (Brett) Pfingston and Paulette Elder.  In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren Madison Payne, Gavin Payne, Ally Barnett, Olivia Barnett, Brody Barnett, Jeremy Seipert, Megan Snyder, Courtney Taylor, and Austin Pfingston.

Private graveside services with military honors will be held at Sunset Memorial Park at a later date.
