Elizabeth McCahey, 85, passed away on June 14, 2021. She was born on July 8, 1935, to T. Lawrence Gilbert and Alice Gilbert in Bucks County, PA.
Elizabeth was a sports fanatic. She loved baseball and any Philadelphia sports; her teams were the Eagles, Flyers, 76ers, and Phillies. She enjoyed traveling and shopping. She loved spending time with her family and yellow lab, Perry. She worked as a lunchroom supervisor for many years, the kids all adored her. In later years she worked at Touch of Class Catalog, she really enjoyed helping customers. She was so loved and will be greatly missed.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her loving husband, celebrating her 65th wedding anniversary in heaven with George; her parents; 4 siblings; and granddaughter Karleena McCahey.
Elizabeth is survived by her 5 children George McCahey Jr. (Suzy), Keith McCahey, Mitch McCahey (Caroline), Eileen Janiga (Brian), Elizabeth Panella (Larry); 23 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren with one on the way; sister Jane Callas; and best friend, her yellow lab Perry; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Service will begin at 11 am on Monday, June 21, 2021, at the Chapel of Peace at Sunset Funeral Home with burial to directly follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
