His smile and his character illuminated to all who had the opportunity to meet him. Now he lightens in Heaven and leaves an indelible mark in our hearts.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we embrace you with our heart. Our deepest condolences.
Sweet boy that I teased about his uncle Sean having chickens in his bedroom. We had smiles and a laugh! Elijah was so strong. Rest young man! Condolences to family and friends🙏
Elijah Garrett Perkins, 11, was born on June 3, 2008 to Eric and Erin Perkins in Newburgh, Indiana.
From the moment he was born, Elijah was the happiest child. He was always smiling and laughing. He enjoyed being a part of the 6th grade class at McCutchanville Elementary. He was a social butterfly and loved interacting with his classmates. Elijah enjoyed playing soccer, basketball, and baseball, and was a ballet dancer. Elijah enjoyed spending his time listening to music on his favorite radio stations 106.1 and 96.1. His favorite artists to listen to were Taylor Swift, Sia, and Shawn Mendes. Elijah loved all dinosaurs and dragons, but his all-time favorite was the Blue from Jurassic World and Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon. He also liked to play Pokémon and watch Fuller House whenever he could. One of his favorite pastimes was knitting and he would knit several scarves for his mother. Most of all, Elijah loved to spend his time with his family. He was a strong defender of his family. He was a fighter and a courageous young man who was dearly loved by all who met him.
Elijah is survived by his parents Eric and Erin Perkins; his brother Edward Perkins; his grandparents Dave and Sarah Thomas and Russell and Cynthia Perkins; his aunts and uncles Brian and Jennifer Thomas and Sean Thomas; his cousins Kyle and Christopher Thomas and Cassidy, Chloe, and Dylan; and the White family.
A celebration of life will begin at 7 p.m. Monday, November 25th at Sunset Funeral Home. Friends and family can visit from 5 p.m. until the celebration begins. The family asks that no flowers be sent.
