    This woman could be hard core. She had a low tolerance for people who treated her family poorly. But, if she loved you….she would do anything in the world for you. You never had to question where she stood. Her giggle was contagious. You knew you would always find her in flip flops sometimes with a vodka and orange juice in her hand in the summer time. To say she’ll be missed is an understatement. Ok. Done talkin’. Love ya! Bye! 😢

Diana “Dee” R. (Dupont) Brown, 71, of Owensville, Indiana passed away at Deaconess Gateway Hospital on January 5, 2020. She was born in Evansville, Indiana to her parents John J. and Floella “MeMe” Dupont.

Diana had her own home day care for about 20 years and also worked at Gibson General Hospital in the dietary department and housekeeping for around 15 years. In her spare time she watched Tom Brady play football, she said he “made the field light up”. She did football picks every week with her son. She loved Elvis Presley, fishing and above all things she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was an incredible fighter until the end, and always the family firecracker.

Diana leaves behind her husband of 24 years David “Butch” Brown, children; James “Bubba” (Heather “Heathen” Walters; grandchildren: Alisha “Brooklyn” Walters, Quila McCarthy, Cameron “Jamsie” (Miriah) Walters, Dustin Murray, Brandon “Brando” Hart, Kaleb “Shake” (Mallory) Walters, Makenzie “Boopie” Walters; many great grandchildren, siblings; Ricky Dupont, SR., Walter “Tinker” (Katrina) Cravens; half-siblings, Gus “Pud” Boyken, Sue Meredith; many nieces and nephews, many loving friends; including Jackie Jernigan, pets; Powder, Shasta, Precious and Cotton all Great Pyrennees.

She is preceded in death by her parents; John J. and Floella “MeMe” Dupont; daughter, Wendy Walters.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Jauary 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home. There will be a public visitation from 12:00 Noon until the time of service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude.
