Conrad August Schornhorst, 84, passed away on June 24, 2021 at the Linda E White Hospice, Deaconess Midtown. He was born on June 7, 1937, in Evansville, Indiana.
Conrad retired from Whirlpool after 36 years in 1997. He served in the United States Army from 1957-1960, Company F 40th Armor SP 5. He enjoyed camping, fishing with his brother Rudolph and family, attending reunions with his Army unit, IU basketball, Cardinal’s baseball, and homemade ice cream. He had a love for restoring classic cars and gained many awards from car shows.
Conrad was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert W. and Louise (Eckardt) Schornhorst; brothers Rudolph and Charles Rae; sister Katherine Beard; and niece Debra Schornhorst.
Conrad is survived by his wife of 50 years Connie Sue; cousins Carol Jeanine; nephew David, Eric, Michael and Carl Schornhorst; niece Linda Schornhorst; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Internment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in the Veterans Masonic Garden. Conrad and the family have chosen to forego any services. Any well wishes can be sent to Connie Sue Schornhorst c/o Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
