Thank you everyone for your kind messages and prayers for me and my family. This has been the most challenging week and we appreciate3 everything everyone has said and done for us. Thanks so much Jeff, Jeffrey and Jaymi
To Claudia’s family: I have no words for the loss of your wife, mom and grandmother. Claudia was and will always be a special person to me. Not only was she the best child care provider for our kids, she continued to love after they all grew up. I don’t think we could have found a better person to take of the kids. My thoughts are with you during this hard time. I know you’ll all have the best memories to hold close, as she did love her family. She was always bragging on you all every time I would run into her. My most sincere condolences to you all. Rhonda Trail
So sorry to hear of Claudia’s passing. She was a great child care provider, I know Chelsea enjoyed her time at Claudia’s. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. Brett and Jaime Quirk
Claudia Shelton passed away on September 30, 2021. She was born on August 15, 1959, to Janice and Billy Mattingly.
Claudia was known for her heart of gold. She absolutely loved helping others, especially taking care of her husband, Jeffrey. Claudia was a daycare provider and cherished her days working with the children in her care. Her family was her most prized possession. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. She would even spend 2 whole days making a cheesecake from scratch for her son. Claudia also really treasured weekly dinnertimes with her family. Easter was always Claudia’s favorite holiday as she would have a cookout for family and friends to get together every year. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Claudia was preceded in death by her parents Janice and Billy Mattingly as well as her grandparents Mary and Kelly Young.
Claudia is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jeffrey Shelton. She is also survived by her children Jaymi (Joshua) Hohler and Jeffrey Shelton II; Grandchildren Shelby (Anthony) Bouno, Brooke Hohler, Brittany Shelton, and Henry Shelton; Sister Teresa West; Nieces Nikki and Jenny along with many other great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at 12pm on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Park.
