Charlotte Ann (McLeod) Baumgart

Charlotte Ann (McLeod) Baumgart, 91, passed away on January 16, 2021 in Evansville, Indiana. She was born in Evansville, Indiana on January 31st, 1930 to her parents, Fred and Vera (Yourgans) McLeod.
She graduated from Bosse High School in 1947. She married the love of her life, James Cullen Baumgart, in May of 1948. She was a stay at home mom with her six children. It was her full time job and she loved every minute of it. She was very proud of her children and of her Scottish and German heritage. She cared deeply about her life growing up on the farm. She grew up as a farmer’s daughter and always made sure to watch the weather because life on the farm depended on it. She would tell her family stories about milking the cows and growing vegetables. She truly knew what it meant to go from farm to table and a true “lawn ranger”. She was very social media savvy and loved watching the news on her iPad and posting on Instagram. It was clear that, above all else, her family mattered to her the most and she loved them with her whole being.
Preceding Charlotte in death are her parents; her husband, James Cullen Baumgart; her daughter, Carla (Baumgart) Tisserand; and her sisters, June Jones and Joyce Eastridge.
Surviving Charlotte are her brother, Russell McLeod; her children, Sandi (John) Schnarr, Marcia (Doug) Harmes, Janet Baumgart-Trice, Sharon (Stephen) Ford, James M. (Kim) Baumgart; her grandchildren, Christian Schnarr, Adam (Kim Morrison) Schnarr, Mitch Tisserand, Blake Tisserand, Abe (Adrienne) Ford, Eric (Sonja Bower) Ford, Jamie (Jon) Ford-Follmar, Mallory (Jesse) Trice-Virgin, Nathan (Tai) Trice, Alex (Dan Farmer) Baumgart, Cullen (Alexandra) Baumgart, Faith (Isaac Flowers) Baumgart; her great-grandchildren, Noah Schnarr, Connor Trice, Carter Trice, Reece Virgin, Brett Virgin, Charlotte Ford, Caroline Ford, Macy Follmar, Josie Farmer, Blanca Tisserand, Della Tisserand, and Alyssa Tisserand; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion, Lottie the Cat.
Private services will be held for the immediately family only on Saturday, January 23rd, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home.
