Carolyn S. DeShields

Carolyn Sue DeShields, 76, of Evansville, went to her heavenly home on January 12, 2023.

Carolyn was born to Walter and Mary (Wilkins) Freudenberg on October 16, 1946, in Fort Branch, Indiana. Carolyn graduated from Mackey High School. She went on to work at Windsor Plastics for over 45 years.

Carolyn demonstrated a faithful and joyous walk with the Lord. She displayed the most compassionate, kind, and selfless love for all. She found great importance in helping others in need. In her spare time, Carolyn enjoyed being outdoors, listening to country music, and spending time with her loved ones. The true light of her life was her family; every minute spent together was deeply cherished.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert Freudenberg.

Carolyn is survived by her children Wayne (Jill) DeShields and Katherine Throop; grandchildren Lacey Phillips, Kasey Antey, Tawni DeShields, Samuel DeShields, Danny Throop Jr.; siblings Joanna MaiKranz, Charles (Linda) Freudenberg, and Roy (Becky) Freudenberg; great-grandchildren Alexia Mercer, Adam Friend, Peyton Mercer, Adalynn Mercer, Baylee Mercer, Kori Mercer; and numerous loving extended family.

Visitation will be from 1pm until the time of service at 3pm on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home.
