March 3, 2020 at 10:08 pmI knew your mom by the name Aunt Carol. She was my favorite Aunt. She was the one who always sent birthday presents and Christmas presents. Later on, it was graduation gifts, wedding gifts and baby gifts. I loved her smile and still remember her warm embrace. She welcomed my family (my mom and dad and us 5 kids) into her home whenever we came to Evansville to visit family. I now realize it was a lot to take on, but she did it with love. Take good care and know that Carol will always be remembered with love.

Carolyn R. (Thompson) Goad, 77, went home to be with the Lord on February 24, 2020. She was born on October 17, 1942 to Lyle and Wilma Thompson in Evansville, Indiana.
Carolyn was a caring and family oriented woman. She loved spending time with her family. Carolyn loved the Lord and enjoyed going to church. She was a long time member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church. Carolyn worked as a Qualified Medical Assistant in nursing homes for 19 years. She also enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley, her favorite song being Love Me Tender.
Carolyn is survived by her children Michael Goad and Diana Goad; her grandchildren Christian (Mackenzie) Goad, Chandler Goad, Megan Goad, and Isis Goad; her great-grandchild Kayson Brafford; her brothers David (Karen) Thompson and Dan Thompson; and her nieces and nephews Julie (David) Summitt, Aaron (Jenny) Thompson, and Courtney Bowman.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 26th at Sunset Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park. There will a celebration meal at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church after the service.
