Carolyn “Bernice” (Carrico) Brown, 81, went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2020. She was born on April 28, 1939 to Jesse and Mary (Greenwell) Carrico in Evansville, Indiana.

Carolyn Bernice was a blessing to anyone she met. Her selflessness led her into helping anyone she could; she would do anything for anyone. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church for close to five years. Graduating from Matre Dei was one of her accomplishments; but above all else her kids were her greatest accomplishment. Carolyn Bernice had many interests and hobbies. She loved getting caught up in her romance and mystery novels. Pontoon boating and enjoying the river camp brought many memorable moments to Carolyn Bernice. She worked at Zenith Electronics and the City of Evansville. In the beautiful life that Carolyn Bernice lived, there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her family, especially the grand-babies.

Surviving Carolyn Bernice are her children, Cynthia Sandefur, Michael (Linda) Sandefur, Donna (Jesse) Derrington, and a step-son Roger (Joyce Sanders) Brown; seven grandchildren, Jessi Coomer, Christi Stogner, Sarah (Ryon Wilson) Perdue, Jeremy (Brittany Franz) Forgy, Jesse (Alisha) Derrington II, Samantha Williams, and Stacee (K.C.) Campbell; twelve great-grandchildren, Clarissa, Hunter, Braedon, Khaleesi, Tyler, Quinn, Jace, Wyatt, Braxton, Brentley, Waylyn, and Klayton; a sister, Shirley Tyree; a brother, Steve (Gerry) Carrico; a brother-in-law, Cornell Meyer; a sister-in-law, Celia Carrico; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Carolyn Bernice is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Veronica Perdue; her sister, Phyllis Meyer; her brother, Fred Carrico; her brother-in-law, Jack Tyree; and her very close, long time friends, Jonelle Diamond, Jeanie Madden, and Wanda Pace.
