Billy will be greatly missed. I was stationed in Evansville. I enjoyed spending time with Billy and his family. Billy made me laugh, always joking and cracked up. I will missed him so very much. God bless you Billy
Billie Joe Mortis, 70, went to his heavenly home on June 6, 2023. He was born on November 19, 1952, in Eldorado, Illinois.
Billie is survived by his children Bryant Mortis (Rashelle), Miranda Burchuk (Colton), Nicholas Smith, Scott Mortis (Amy), Larry Joe Mortis; grandchildren Isaiah, Serenity, Mikayla, Kaiden, Olive, Sebastian, Josiah, Karter, Khloe; siblings Sue, James, Larry, George; and numerous loving extended family.
Billie was preceded in death by his parents George and Pauline (Wilson) Mortis and his siblings Frank, Robert, Brenda, Paul, and Fran.
Billie worked at the Salvation Army as the Kettle Coordinator for over 50 years. Billie was a faithful man and put God before all else. In his spare time, he loved going fishing. He enjoyed watching the Cardinals Baseball games with his family. His grandbabies were his world.
A Memorial Service for Billie will be held on June 13, 2023, at 4 pm at Salvation Army located at 1040 N. Fulton Avenue, Evansville, IN. 47710
