Bettye M Stone, 93, passed away on March 5, 2020 at The Hearth at Sycamore Village in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born October 21, 1926 in Richland City, Indiana to James and Margaret (Day) Goodman.
Bettye grew up in Richland City, Indiana. She graduated from Luce Township High School in 1944. After graduation, Bettye worked at Neisner’s 5 & 10 and Theater Bar and Grill in Evansville, Indiana.
Bettye married Henry C. Stone in 1949 in Morganfield, Kentucky. They were happily married for 67 years.
Bettye was preceded in death by her spouse, Henry; parents, James and Margaret Goodman; brother Ralph; and sisters Hazel McCoy, Helen Fortune, Jimmie (Doris) Porter, and Bonnie Mathis.
Bettye is survived by son, Michael(Marguerite) Stone of Pensacola, Florida and daughters Monta(Steve) Moore and Rebecca(Kerry) Bailey of Columbia City, Indiana; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and her nieces and nephews and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 1 PM. A visitation will be held at 12 PM. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Evansville, Indiana.
