Betsy R. Collins, 91, passed away on February 16, 2019. She was born on April 29, 1927 to Willie and Bessie Boston Campbell in Pikeville, TN.
Betsy worked for Shane’s Uniform and Wolf’s Bar-B-Q. She enjoyed walking at the mall and long drives. She loved to play bingo at Hamilton Pointe and collecting dolls.
Betsy is survived by her daughter Linda (Ralph) Newman; grandchildren Beth (Kip) Diekmann and James (Carrie) Newman; great-grandson Blake Diekmann; nieces and nephews Faye Walker, Mike (Penny) Walker, and Mitchell Walker; and half-siblings Lelia Sutherland, Margaret Carr, Marie Eller, Darvin Campbell, and Connie Campbell.
Betsy was preceded in death by her first husband Howard Abel, her second husband Edward Collins, and her husband of 8 years Elgan Turner; her siblings Carrie Walker, James Campbell, and Edgar Campbell; half-siblings Creel Campbell and Iris Ferguson; and nephew Donnie Walker.
Private family services will be at Sunset Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the staff at Hamilton Pointe Assisted Living and Heart to Heart Hospice for all of their love and support.
