Barbara Ann Feistel, 92, passed away on March 26, 2021. She was born on April 26, 1928 to Adeline (Krueger) Hill and Clifford Meadows in Rockport, Indiana.
Barbara was a great lady who put a lot of love into everything, especially into her family and into her cooking. Barbara spent much of her time with the family baking and cooking. Her grandson even published a cookbook with her recipes inside. She also enjoyed sewing and reading. Every year, Barbara looked forward to planning the annual family reunion with her mom. They tried to plan it at a state park every year. Barbara was formerly a member of the Bethlehem United Christian Church. She worked with EVSC as a secretary to the principal and helped with handicapped children, as well. She graduated from Bosse High School and went on to attend Lockyear School of Business. She later worked at Birch Plow and Gillenwater Trucking. Barbara had a full and beautiful life, but if anything filled her with joy, it was her family. Her loving and caring spirit made her the glue that brought everyone together.
Barbara is survived by her children, Greg Feistel and Linda (Mike) Ruffner; her grandchildren, Stephen (Jessica) Feistel, Alex (Kinsey Coble) Feistel and Lauren Ruffner Sandoval ; her great-grandchildren, Brayden, Caleb, Oliver, Avery Feistel, Elliot and Bennett Sandoval; her cousins, Ellen and Delores; and former spouse and longtime friend, Paul Feistel.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Roy Hill; and her daughter-in-law, Dotty Feistel.
Services for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Park. Visitation time will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm with the service to begin at 1:00pm.
