Barbara L. Damron, 81, passed away on November 10, 2018. She was born on August 21, 1937 to Jesse Clarence Hoyt and Beatrice Ditzer in Evansville, Indiana.
The best way to describe Barbara was that she was a character. She had a great love for Elvis Presley. In her younger years, she attended Harwood Elementary and Reitz High School. She was also a Brownie in Girl Scouts. Later in life, she was a dedicated housewife and volunteer at her son’s school, McGary Grade School.
Barbara is survived by her son Dwight B. Taylor and daughter-in-law Rose Taylor, her grandchildren Chrisandra Taylor, (Denise Thorn), Melissa Taylor and (Austin Krum), her great-grandchildren Benjamin Uhde and Alice Wilson, and her fur grandbaby Layla Mae.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse Clarence Hoyt and Beatrice Ditzer, her first husband Harvey Lloyd Taylor, and her second husband James Damron.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 18th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Monday, November 19th at 11 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home with a burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
